Grade 5 Transition Process to Middle School

As we get closer to the end of the school year, there are some exciting events happening to help our Grade 5s prepare for their transition to Springvalley Middle School (SMS).

Upcoming Dates:

SMS Visits BME Grade 5s -- Monday, April 20 at 12:15pm

• SMS staff will visit BME to share information about the upcoming year, what to expect in middle school, and the opportunities that exist at SMS.
  

Grade 5 Parent Information Evening at SMS -- Thursday, May 7 from 5:00 to 6:30pm

• SMS staff will offer information about the upcoming year and tours of the building.
  

Grade 5 BBQ at SMS -- Wednesday, June 17 from 12:00 to 2:00pm

• Bussing will be provided for our Grade 5s and their teachers to visit SMS for a BBQ lunch and welcome event for all students from Springvalley's feeder schools.

Please also know that our BME team will be working closely with SMS to ensure as smooth a transition as possible for our Grade 5s. If you have any specific concerns about your child's transition, please connect with your child's classroom teacher to discuss. We encourage parents to attend the parent evening as a great way to meet some of the SMS staff and see the space.
