Students at Black Mountain Elementary School will have the opportuntity to see four SD 23 organized cultural events in our school gymnasium.

Greg Kennedy - November 20
Originally trained as an engineer, Greg uses the principles of geometry and physics to create ground-breaking work with original apparatus. He is renowned for his many original contributions to juggling as an art form and known by audiences for his entertaining performances making visual spectacles by combining art and science.
Kutapira - January 22
Kutapira is a percussion ensemble formed in 2005 in East Vancouver, made up of five core members, ages 25 to 30, who started playing this fusion of world music together when they were kids over 15 years ago. Kutapira means “sweetness” in the Shona language of Zimbabwe, a fitting title for a band that seamlessly blends Zimbabwean Marimba, Afro-Cuban & West African percussion rhythms along with Reggae, Samba, Afrobeat, Funk, Jazz, Cumbia, Disco and Hip Hop.
Ventriloquist Kellie Haines started talking to her stuffed animals at an early age and when she was 8 years old they started talking back! A multi-talented entertainer with a background in theatre, clowning and singing, Kellie's shows are hilarious and her technical skills invite audiences to experience storytelling in a unique and magical way. Even adults wonder who is pulling the strings!
